take screenshot of full page in chrome

To take a full-page screenshot in Chrome without extensions, press Ctrl+Shift+I (Windows) or Cmd+Option+I (Mac) to open Developer Tools, then Ctrl+Shift+P (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+P (Mac) to open the command menu. Type “screenshot” and select “Capture full size screenshot” to download the entire webpage as a PNG.

Method 1: Using Chrome Built-in Tools (No Extensions)

  1. Open the page: Go to the website you want to capture in Chrome.
  2. Open Developer Tools: Press F12, or Ctrl+Shift+I (Windows/Linux) / Cmd+Option+I (Mac).
  3. Open Command Menu: Press Ctrl+Shift+P (Windows/Linux) / Cmd+Shift+P (Mac).
  4. Search for Screenshot: Type “screenshot” into the command menu.
  5. Capture: Select “Capture full size screenshot” from the list.
  6. Save: Chrome will automatically download the full-page image (usually as a PNG) to your default download location.

Method 2: Using Chrome Extensions

For easier, one-click functionality, you can use browser extensions:

  • GoFullPage: A popular, reliable extension specifically for full-page screenshots.
  • Awesome Screenshot: Offers, annotation, and capture features.

Alternative: Print to PDF

If the above methods do not work, you can use the built-in print feature:

  1. Press Ctrl+P (Windows) or Cmd+P (Mac) to open the print dialog.
  2. Set the destination to “Save as PDF”.
  3. This saves the entire document, which can then be converted to an image if needed.
