The right way to remove fake voters
July 2, 2025 in Commentator
This is a very brilliant step, in which fake voters will be removed without amending the Constitution, without making a law, by using the powers already given in the Constitution. It is very natural that the revision of the voter list and the effective conditions attached to it will bring about a radical change in the politics of the country. At present, the Election Commission has made this new arrangement only for the Bihar Assembly elections, but it has also announced that this system will be implemented in the entire country before the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. For voter revision, a form will be filled by going door to door from the voters, the last date of which is 26 July. Even after this, if anyone has any objection to this, or if someone is left out due to any other reason, then there will probably be additional time for that from 30 July to 30 September. The main thing in this is that the Election Commission has also ensured that along with filling the form, proof of citizenship will also have to be given. Obviously, this is a very historic decision, which is a big blow to every infiltrator settled in India in the desire of vote bank. The entire opposition has already started making noise. In the coming days, you will see that from Bihar to West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh or all other states, where the names of Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators have been included in the voter list, a big blow is going to fall. If the Election Commission remains firm on its decision, then a revolutionary change can really be seen in politics.

There are more than 7.89 crore registered voters in Bihar. Out of these, there are about three crore voters whose names are not in the 2003 list. They will have to verify their identity and birth information and present any one of the 11 listed documents. An important step has been taken in the direction of making the voter list transparent in Bihar. This exercise will remove those voters from the list who have been included in it fraudulently. It will also hurt the voter base of the parties doing appeasement politics. That is why many parties have stood up against it. But I believe that the Election Commission should not back down from this step. This is needed to make the elections fair and transparent.
