टैरिफ पर टकराव से होगा हमारा नुकसान

अमेरिका ने भारतीय उत्पादों के आयात पर 25 फीसदी सीमा शुल्क वसूलना शुरू कर दिया है, जबकि बतौर जुर्माना अतिरिक्त 25 फीसदी टैरिफ शुरू करने का भी एलान कर दिया है। इसका भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था पर प्रतिकूल असर पड़ेगा। भले ही हम स्वदेशी की बात कह रहे हैं, लेकिन इसका बहुत ज्यादा फायदा नहीं होगा। इसका गणित बिल्कुल सीधा है। दरअसल, सीमा शुल्क के बढ़ने से अमेरिका में भारतीय उत्पादों की कीमतें बढ़ जाएंगी, जो बढ़ भी गई हैं। इस कारण वहां इन उत्पादों का प्रतिस्पद्धां में टिके रहना मुश्किल हो जाएगा। जाहिर है, जब इनकी खरीदारी कम होगी, तो यहां भारत में उनका उत्पादन कम होता जाएगा। इससे कंपनियों की बैलेंस शीट प्रभावित होगी और वे छंटनी करने पर मजबूर होंगी। इसी कारण सभी अर्थशास्त्री कहने लगे हैं कि इन सबसे खास तौर से अनौपचारिक अर्थव्यवस्था

से जुड़े लोगों की आजीविका, जो संख्या-बल में औपचारिक अर्थव्यवस्था से जुड़े कामगारों की तुलना में काफी अधिक हैं, खासा प्रभावित होगी और भारत में गरीबी बढ़ जाएगी। अब आप ही सोचिए, जब यहां लोगों के पास पैसे ही नहीं होंगे, तो वे कौन सी स्वदेशी और कौन सी विदेशी वस्तुएं खरीदेंगे। उनके लिए तो बस दो जून की रोटी का इंतजाम हो जाए, वही बेहतर होगा। वैसे भी, स्वदेशी सामान तुलनात्मक रूप से महंगे होते हैं। ऐसे में, हमारे लिए चुनौतियां ही बढ़ेंगी, अवसर शायद ही पैदा हो सकेंगे।

भारत में बेरोजगारी बढ़ना स्वभाविक है। इस टैरिफ-वृद्धि का भारत पर भयंकर असर पड़ना शुरू भी हो गया है। शेयर बाजार में लगातार गिरावट जारी है। देश में आठ करोड़ नौकरियों पर संकट आ गया है। भारत का ऊर्जा, रक्षा व आर्थिक क्षेत्र में आत्मनिर्भरता की तरफ तेजी से आगे बढ़ना और रूस से तेल व हथियारों की खरीदारी करना ट्रंप को नहीं भा रहा है। चीन भारत का खुला दुश्मन है, अमेरिका छिपा हुआ। ये दोनों पाकिस्तान के हितैषी हैं, क्योंकि दोनों भारतीय उप-महाद्वीप में अपना दबदबा चाहते हैं। अमेरिका कभी भी भारत का हितैषी नहीं रहा है। इस टैरिफ-वार में हमें नुकसान ही हो रहा है। फिर भी न जाने क्यों भारत रूस की दोस्ती त्यागकर अमेरिका का पिछलग्गू बना हुआ है। वक्त आ गया है कि भारत अपनी विदेश नीति पर फिर से गौर करे।

This will have an adverse effect on the Indian economy. Even though we are talking about Swadeshi, it will not be of much benefit. Its mathematics is very simple. Actually, due to increase in customs duty, the prices of Indian products in America will increase, which have already increased. Due to this, it will become difficult for these products to remain competitive there. Obviously, when their purchase will decrease, their production here in India will decrease. This will affect the balance sheet of companies and they will be forced to lay off workers. This is why all economists have started saying that the livelihood of people associated with the informal economy, which is much more in number than the workers associated with the formal economy, will be greatly affected and poverty will increase in India. Now you think, when people here will not have money, then which Swadeshi and which foreign goods will they buy. For them, it would be better if they could arrange for their daily bread. Anyway, indigenous goods are comparatively expensive. In such a situation, challenges will only increase for us, opportunities will hardly be created.

It is natural for unemployment to increase in India. This tariff increase has already started having a terrible impact on India. The stock market is continuously falling. Eight crore jobs in the country are in danger. Trump is not happy with India’s rapid progress towards self-reliance in energy, defense and economic sectors and purchasing oil and weapons from Russia. China is India’s open enemy, America is a hidden one. Both of them are well-wishers of Pakistan, because both want to dominate the Indian subcontinent. America has never been a well-wisher of India. We are only suffering losses in this tariff war. Yet I don’t know why India has abandoned its friendship with Russia and has become a stooge of America. The time has come for India to reconsider its foreign policy.
