Every sentence have two part: the subject and the predicate. The subject is the first part of sentence. It it’ll us what what the sentences is about.

The predicate come after the subject and content of verb.it tell us something about the subject.

The subject in a sentence usually a noun or noun phrase. Other types of words, when they occur as subject, behave like noun.

Predicate: form and function

The predicate must contain our. It can also contain other elements like object, complements or and adverbials all depending on the nature of the verb.

Yes no questions are usually formed by placing the word before the subject.

When there is a helping verb in the statement, it question from will have the structure.
Helping verb + object + main verb + other part of the predicate.

When there is no helping verb in the statement, as in sentence in the simple present or the simple past we will need to supply do does or did as shown in the table below.

Simple present

Does + subject + base from of the verb + other part of the predicate.
For example: Suraj make tea. Does Suraj make tea?

Simple past

What is sentence?

A sentence is a group of word that make complete sentence. It has a Unity, stands independently and Express are cleared meaning.

A sentence must contain and action word, or verb. Sentence also contain are subject, or the doer of the action . Some sentence include an object, that is, the person or thing that is, the person or thing that undergoes the action.
Examples-
cheetahs runs fast ,
Cheetahs chase deer.

Sentence begin with a capital letter. And with a full stop(.), a questions mark(?)or an exclamation mark(!).

Types of sentences

There are four major types of sentences

  • Declarative sentences
  • Interrogative sentences
  • Imperative sentence
  • Exclamatory sentences

Declarative sentences tell something and end with a full stop.
For example
Amazon is a river.
Nikita 8 3 bananas in the morning.
Our grandfather lives in Madurai.
Charles Dickens was a famous British novelist.

Interrogative sentences ask question and end with question mark.
For example:
