BRAOU to hold 26th convocation on September 30; Telangana Governor to attend
Dr B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) will hold its 26th convocation on Tuesday (September 30). The event will be attended by Governor and Chancellor of the University Jishnu Dev Varma, who will confer Ph.D. degrees, gold medals, and book prizes.
Uma Kanjilal, Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University, will deliver the convocation address as the chief guest. Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, Vice-Chancellor of BRAOU, announced that the university will confer honorary Doctor of Letters degrees on Telugu lyricist and poet Goreti Venkanna, and peace educator Prem Rawat, recognising their distinguished contributions to literature and global social welfare.
Dr BR Ambedkar Open University will confer degrees to 203 prisoners during its XXVI convocation, with two inmates winning gold medals. The university also plans to award 53 PhDs, two MPhils, and honorary doctorates to Goreti Venkanna and Prem Rawat
