Celtic fans have been lamenting former England goalkeeper Joe Hart after he gifted RB Leipzig a goal in their Champions League game on Wednesday night with an ‘inexcusable’ pass to an opposition player.
The game was delicately poised at 1-1 when the keeper hit a wayward pass to Leipzig’s Dominik Szoboszlai, who squared it for Andre Silva to slot online home.
The German side went on to win 3-1, and can knock Celtic out of the UCL by beating them at Celtic Park next week.

Fans were quick to show their anger at Hart online, with one tweeting ‘No excuses whatsoever, Joe Hart a seasoned professional that’s genuinely embarrassing & inexcusable.’
Another added the keeper was ‘showcasing why Pep [Guardiola] sold him’, while one simply said they were ‘gutted.’
‘When are we allowed to have a conversation about Joe Hart?’ Asked a frustrated Celtic supporter. ‘Not the first time this season or in his time at Celtic that he’s been a liability.’

Others commented on the timing of the error adding insult to injury with the away fans still celebrating a goal being disallowed, as Football Scotland called it a ‘horror moment for Joe Hart just 37 SECONDS after VAR had seemingly saved the day for Celtic.’
Speaking after the game, Hart said: ‘I’m at fault for the second goal, no doubt about it.
But that’s the way the manager wants us to play so that’s the the way we play.
‘They were pressing with three and I wasn’t quite sure whether to go to the centre half or Greg. I decided to go for Greg and I missed. That’s the simple facts but it’s high level football and something I love playing and you make a mistake and you get punished.’
