Kanwariyas should also fulfill their civic responsibility

नागरिक जिम्मेदारी भी निभाएं कांवड़िये

उत्तर भारत की प्रसिद्ध कांवड़ यात्राओं में करोड़ों कांवड़िये चलते हैं। यह धार्मिक आस्था से जुड़ा उपक्रम है, लेकिन इस दौरान देखा गया है कि कई कांवड़िये जहां तहां उत्पात मचाते हैं। उत्तर प्रदेश से कई जगह मारपीट और तोड़-फोड़ की घटनाएं भी सामने आई हैं। जाहिर है, सभी कांवड़िये ऐसा नहीं करते। मगर कुछ लोग कांवड़ यात्रा का बेजा लाभ उठाकर अपने – मकसद को पूरा करते हैं। कांवड़ यात्राओं में कुछ हुड़दंगी तत्व घुस आते हैं। ऐसे तत्व कांवड़ियों को बदनाम कर रहे हैं। ऐसे तत्व ही गाड़ियों में तोड़‌फोड़ कर रहे हैं और महिलाओं-वच्चों तक को नहीं बख्शते हैं। उत्तर प्रदेश में कांवड़ यात्रा मार्गों पर डर के मारे कई लोगों ने अपनी दुकान बंद कर ली है, इससे उनको घाटा हो रहा है। कहीं चाय की, तो कहीं फल की दुकान लगाए छोटे दुकानदारों को भुगतान न करने की घटनाएं भी सामने आई हैं।

ऐसी खबरें ज्यादातर उत्तर प्रदेश से मिल रही हैं। इसका एक कारण यह भी है कि यूपी की कांवड़ यात्रा में नंगे पांव चलने की परंपरा नहीं है। यहां के कांवड़िये चप्पल-जूते पहनकर और गाड़ियों से यात्रा करते हैं। ऐसे में, उनमें अनुशासनिक शिथिलता देखी जाती है। इनमें घुस आए उत्पाती तत्वों को भी मौका मिल जाता है। इसी से जुड़ा अभिव्यक्ति की आजादी का भी एक सवाल है। बरेली में एक शिक्षक ने बच्चों को कांवड़ यात्रा के बजाय ज्ञान की यात्रा करने की नसीहत देती कविता क्या सुनाई, उस पर कार्रवाई हो गई। हालांकि, इस शिक्षक को भी इस समय खुलेआम कांवड़ यात्रा के खिलाफ बोलने से बचना चाहिए था। उधर, प्रशासन को भी संयम का परिचय देना चाहिए और छोटी-छोटी घटनाओं पर कार्रवाई नहीं करनी चाहिए। बिहार और झारखंड की कांवड़ यात्रा में धार्मिक विधान और अनुशासन का कठोरता से पालन होता है। वे नंगे पांव सुल्तानगंज से जल लेकर पैदल 100 किलोमीटर की यात्रा करके देवघर पहुंचते हैं। इसी तरह पहलेजा से भी काफी दूरी तय करके कांवड़िये गरीव स्थान पहुंचते हैं। इस दौरान वे स्वतः कठोर नियमों का पालन करते हैं। कांवड़ियों में खुद जिम्मेदारी का बोध होना चाहिए और उन्हें याद रखना चाहिए कि वे देश के नागरिक भी हैं। उन्हें स्थानीय प्रशासन के साथ सहयोग करना चाहिए।

धर्म और आस्था नितांत निजी विषय हैं। इनकी श्रेष्ठता तभी स्थापित होगी, जब इनका पालन करते हुए आप दूसरों का मन नदुखाएं, बल्कि उनके भीतर अपने धर्म के लिए प्रशंसा और आकर्षण पैदा करें। इस तरह कांवड़ यात्रा को बदनाम होने से बचाया जा सकता है। और धर्मप्राण लोगों की भावनाओं की कद्र की जा सकती है।

Incidents of not paying small shopkeepers who have set up tea shops and fruit shops have also come to light.

Such news are mostly coming from Uttar Pradesh. One reason for this is that there is no tradition of walking barefoot in UP’s Kanwar Yatra. The Kanwariyas here travel wearing slippers and shoes and in vehicles. In such a situation, laxity in discipline is seen among them. The unruly elements who have entered among them also get a chance. Related to this is also the question of freedom of expression. In Bareilly, action was taken against a teacher who recited a poem advising children to travel on the path of knowledge instead of Kanwar Yatra. However, this teacher should also have avoided speaking openly against the Kanwar Yatra at this time. On the other hand, the administration should also show restraint and should not take action on small incidents. Religious rules and discipline are strictly followed in the Kanwar Yatra of Bihar and Jharkhand. They take water from Sultanganj barefoot and travel 100 kilometers on foot to reach Deoghar. Similarly, Kanwariyas reach Gariv Sthan by covering a long distance from Pahelaja also. During this time, they automatically follow strict rules. Kanwariyas should have a sense of responsibility and they should remember that they are also citizens of the country. They should cooperate with the local administration.

Religion and faith are completely personal matters. Their superiority will be established only when you do not hurt the feelings of others while following them, but rather create admiration and attraction for your religion in them. In this way, Kanwar Yatra can be saved from being defamed. And the feelings of religious people can be respected.
