शनि के चांद ‘टाइटन’ पर बन रहीं कोशिकाएं
वाशिंगटन, एजेंसी। नासा ने खुलासा किया है कि शनि ग्रह के सबसे बड़े चंद्रमा पर बहने वाली झीलें इथेन और मीथेन जैसे हाइड्रोकार्बन से लबालब हैं। नए शोध के अनुसार, टाइटन की सतह पर जीवन के लिए जरूरी ‘वेसिकल्स’ नामक सूक्ष्म संरचनाएं बन सकती हैं। ये वेसिकल्स, कोशिकाओं की तरह काम करते हैं।
यह अध्ययन इंटरनेशनल जर्नल ऑफ एस्ट्रोबायोलॉजी में प्रकाशित हुआ। इससे पता चलता है कि टाइटन की कठोर और पृथ्वी से भिन्न परिस्थितियों में भी जीवन के लिए अनुकूल वातावरण बन सकता है।
अम्फीफाइल्स में दोनों तरह की प्रवृत्तियां हैं, एक हिस्सा मीथेन को आकर्षित करता है तो दूसरा उसे दूर करता है। जब ये अणु सतह पर गिरती मीथेन बूंदों में घुलते हैं, तो दो परतों वाली झिल्ली जैसी संरचनाएं बना सकते हैं। यह जीवन की कोशिकाओं की तरह कार्य करती हैं।
Washington, Agency. NASA has revealed that the flowing lakes on Saturn’s largest moon are full of hydrocarbons like ethane and methane. According to new research, microscopic structures called ‘vesicles’, necessary for life, can be formed on Titan’s surface. These vesicles work like cells.
This study was published in the International Journal of Astrobiology. This shows that even in Titan’s harsh and different conditions from Earth, a favorable environment for life can be formed.
Amphiphiles have both types of tendencies, one part attracts methane and the other repels it. When these molecules dissolve in methane droplets falling on the surface, they can form two-layer membrane-like structures. These act like cells of life.
