स्टेरॉयड वाले आई ड्रॉप का उपयोग छीन रहा रोशनी
मुजफ्फरपुर। आंखों में होने वाली छोटे-छोटे बीमारियों में तत्काल राहत के लिए स्टेरॉयड वाले आई ड्राप का तं जरूरत से अधिक इस्तेमाल हो रहा है। – खासकर दूरदराज इलाकों में ग्रामीण चिकित्सक बेधड़क मरीजों को यह दे देते हैं। विशेषज्ञों का कहना है कि स्टेरॉयड वाले आई ड्राप का अधिक इस्तेमाल नुकसानदेह हो सकता है।
सदर अस्पताल के नेत्र रोग विशेषज्ञ डॉ. बीएस झा का कहना है कि स्टेरॉयड आई ड्राप से तत्काल राहत तो मिल जाती है, लेकिन, आंख की रोशनी पर – बुरा प्रभाव पड़ रहा है। धीरे-धीरे रोशनी कम होती जा रही है। कई बार आंखों पर – एक परत बन जाती है, जिसके बाद मोतियाबिंद हो जाता है। विशेषज्ञ का युवाओं के साथ बच्चों पर भी दिख आई ड्रॉप का असर विशेषज्ञों ने दवा के अधिक उपयोग पर जताई चिंता कहना है कि नियमित डॉक्टर स्टेरॉयड वाले आई ड्रॉप का इस्तेमाल एक प्रतिशित से भी कम करते हैं। नेत्र रोग विशेषज्ञ डॉ. बीएस झा ने बताया कि स्टेरॉयड आई ड्रॉप का इस्तेमाल आंखों के लिए खतरनाक है। हर दिन ऐसे करीब आधा दर्जन मरीज आ रहे है जो ग्रामीण चिकित्सक की सलाह पर लंबे समय से स्टेरॉयड आई ड्रॉप का इस्तेमाल करते आ रहे थे। स्टेरॉयड वाला आई ड्रॉप आंखों में गंभीर सूजन व सर्जरी के बाद जलन को कम करने के लिए डॉक्टर देते हैं।

Dr. B.S. Jha, an ophthalmologist at the Sadar Hospital, says that while steroid eye drops provide immediate relief, they have a negative impact on eyesight. Vision gradually deteriorates. Sometimes, a layer forms on the eye, leading to cataracts. Experts are concerned about the effects of these eye drops on young people and children. They say that regular doctors prescribe steroid eye drops in less than one percent of cases. Dr. B.S. Jha explained that the use of steroid eye drops is dangerous for the eyes. Every day, about half a dozen patients come to him who have been using steroid eye drops for a long time on the advice of rural practitioners. Doctors prescribe steroid eye drops to reduce severe inflammation and irritation after eye surgery.
