मन के रिश्ते
पर राम, लक्ष्मण, भरत और शत्रुघ्न के बचपन का एक प्रसंग है। जब ये लोग खेलते थे, तो लक्ष्मण राम की तरफ उनके पीछे होते थे और दूसरे पाले में भरत और शत्रुघ्न। ऐसे मौकों लक्ष्मण भरत को बोलते कि राम भैया सबसे ज्यादा प्यार उन्हें करते हैं, तभी वो हर बार अपने पाले में उन्हें साथ रखते हैं। भरत कहते कि नहीं राम भैया सबसे ज्यादा प्यार उन्हें करते हैं, तभी तो वो उन्हें सामने वाले पाले में रखते हैं, ताकि हर पेल उनकी नजरें उन पर रहें। वो हर पल देख पाएं, क्योंकि साथ वाले को देखने के लिए तो पीछे मुड़ना पड़ेगा।
जब भरत गेंद राम की तरफ उछालते तो राम जानबूझ कर गेंद छोड़ देते और हार जाते। इसके बाद खुशी में सबको उपहार और मिठाइयां भी देते। सब पूछते राम जी आप तो हार गए, फिर आप इतने खुश क्यों है? राम बोलते हैं कि मेरा भरत जीत गया है। लोग सोचते कि जब हारने वाला इतना कुछ बांट रहा है, तो जीतने वाला भाई तो पता नहीं क्या-“क्या देगा? लोग भरत के पास जाते तो देखते कि भरत लंबे-लंबे आंसू बहाते हुए रो रहे हैं। लोगों ने पूछा, ‘आप तो जीत गए हैं फिर आप क्यों रो रहे है ?’ भरत बोले देखिए, मेरी कैसी विडंबना है? मैं जब भी अपने प्रभु के सामने होता हूं, तभी जीत जाता हूं। मैं उनसे जीतना नहीं, मैं उनको अपना सब कुछ हारना चाहता हूं। मैं खुद को हार कर उनको जीतना चाहता हूं।
हमें यह सीखना चाहिए कि जहां सामने अपने होते हैं, वहां एक भाई दूसरे को देकर खुश होता है। लेने से अधिक देने में खुशी महसूस करता है। वे एक-दूसरे का हक नहीं छीनते।
There is an incident from the childhood of Rama, Lakshmana, Bharata, and Shatrughna. When they played games, Lakshmana would be on Rama’s side, behind him, while Bharata and Shatrughna were on the other side. On such occasions, Lakshmana would tell Bharata that Rama loved him the most, which is why he always kept him on his side. Bharata would say, “No, Rama loves me the most, that’s why he keeps me on the opposite side, so he can keep an eye on me at all times. He can see me every moment, because to see someone on your own side, you have to turn around.”
When Bharata would throw the ball towards Rama, Rama would deliberately miss it and lose. After that, he would happily distribute gifts and sweets to everyone. Everyone would ask, “Rama, you lost, then why are you so happy?” Rama would say, “My Bharata has won.” People would think that if the loser is distributing so much, then what will the winning brother give? When people went to Bharata, they saw him weeping, shedding copious tears. People asked, “You have won, then why are you crying?” Bharata said, “Look at my predicament! Whenever I am in front of my Lord, I win. I don’t want to win against him; I want to lose everything to him. I want to lose myself and let him win.”
We should learn from this that when loved ones are involved, one brother is happy giving to the other. They find more joy in giving than in receiving. They don’t snatch each other’s rights.
