हाल के दिनों में US-बेस्ड AI फर्म एंथ्रोपिक के कई हाई-प्रोफाइल लॉन्च के बाद AI की वजह से नौकरियों के नुकसान को लेकर चर्चा तेज़ हो गई है। कंपनी अपने क्लाउड प्लेटफॉर्म के तहत वर्कप्लेस पर फोकस करने वाले टूल ला रही है, जो ऑर्गनाइज़ेशन को लीगल काम, फाइनेंस, ह्यूमन रिसोर्स, इंजीनियरिंग और ऑपरेशन जैसे एरिया में कामों को ऑटोमेट करने की सुविधा देते हैं। ये टूल बड़े पैमाने पर इस्तेमाल होने वाले सॉफ्टवेयर में प्लग इन हो सकते हैं, डॉक्यूमेंट्स में कॉन्टेक्स्ट ले जा सकते हैं और मुश्किल वर्कफ़्लो में मदद कर सकते हैं जिनके लिए पारंपरिक रूप से बड़ी टीमों की ज़रूरत होती थी।

Instead, it rewards those who think better and learn faster. “My own experiments with using generative AI for productivity have shown me that a smarter mind will get better quality and better level of productivity from using these assistive technologies,” Murthy told Money Control.
He added that young people should not see AI as an enemy, but as a tool that must be understood and used wisely. According to Murthy, the responsibility lies with individuals to master these technologies, use them in an assistive manner and combine them with discipline, hard work and continuous learning. “Therefore, there is no need for youngsters to get worried,” he said.
The discussion around AI-led job losses has sharpened in recent days following a series of high-profile launches by US-based AI firm Anthropic. The company has been rolling out workplace-focused tools under its Claude platform that allow organisations to automate tasks across areas such as legal work, finance, human resources, engineering and operations. These tools can plug into widely used software, carry context across documents and assist in complex workflows that traditionally required large teams.
The rapid pace of these developments has unsettled investors. Software and IT services stocks have been under pressure amid concerns that AI could eat into long-running consulting and modernisation work. That unease came into sharp focus earlier this week when IBM shares fell sharply in a single session, which were their steepest one-day decline in over two decades.
The sell-off followed claims that Anthropic’s AI tools can now understand and modernise COBOL, a programming language created in the late 1950s that still underpins critical systems in banking, airlines and government. For companies like IBM, such legacy modernisation projects have historically been time-consuming, consultant-heavy and financially significant. The suggestion that AI could compress years of work into much shorter timelines has forced investors to reassess the future economics of enterprise IT services.
