मच्छर और हवा
एक बार एक मच्छर ने अपनी न्याय-व्यवस्था के लिए मशहूर पैगंबर सुलेमान के दरबार में गुहार लगाई कि हवा ने हम पर ऐसे-ऐसे जुल्म किए हैं कि हम गरीब बागों की सैर भी नहीं कर सकते। जब भी फूलों के पास जाते हैं, हवा हमें उड़ा ले जाती है। हम सुख और आनंद से वंचित कर दिए जाते हैं। दोनों जहां में आपके इंसाफ की धूम है। हमारा भी न्याय कीजिए।
पैगंबर सुलेमान ने कहा- ‘फरियादी, तुम्हें पता नहीं कि मेरे शासनकाल में अन्याय का नामोनिशान नहीं है। मेरी दुनिया में जालिम का काम ही क्या?’
मच्छर ने कहा, ‘बेशक हुजूर, आपका कथन सत्य है। हम पर भी करम कीजिए और दुष्ट हवा के अत्याचार से हमारी मच्छर जाति को बचाइए।
पैगंबर सुलेमान ने कहा, ‘हम तुम्हारा इंसाफ अभी करते हैं, मगर सुनवाई के लिए दूसरे पक्ष का होना भी जरूरी है। जब तक दोनों ओर के बयान न लिखे जाएं, तब तक तहकीकात नहीं हो सकती, इसलिए हवा को बुलाना जरूरी है।’
दरबार से जब हवा के नाम हुक्म पहुंचा, तो वह पूरे वेग से दौड़ती हुई वहां पहुंची। उसके आते ही मच्छर ठहर नहीं सके। उन्हें भागते ही बना।
जब मच्छर भाग रहे थे, सुलेमान ने पूछा, ‘इंसाफ चाहते हो, तो भाग क्यों रहे हो?’ मच्छर बोला, ‘हवा जब आती है, तो हमें भागना ही पड़ता है, वरना जान नहीं बच सकती।’
यही दशा इंसान की है। जब तक उसमें अना (अहंकार) का भाव मौजूद रहता है, तब तक उसे ईश्वर नहीं मिलता और जब ईश्वर मिलता है, तो उसका अहंकार बिल्कुल मिट जाता है।
रूमी
Once, a mosquito appealed to the court of Prophet Solomon, renowned for his justice, complaining that the wind had inflicted such injustices upon them that they, poor creatures, couldn’t even enjoy strolling in the gardens. Whenever they approached the flowers, the wind would blow them away. They were deprived of peace and happiness. Your justice is celebrated in both worlds; please grant us justice as well.
Prophet Solomon said, “Complainant, don’t you know that in my reign, there is no trace of injustice? What place is there for a tyrant in my world?”
The mosquito said, “Indeed, Your Majesty, your words are true. Please show us mercy and save our mosquito community from the tyranny of the wicked wind.”
Prophet Solomon said, “We will grant you justice immediately, but the presence of the other party is also necessary for a hearing. An investigation cannot proceed until statements from both sides are recorded, therefore, it is necessary to summon the wind.”
When the summons reached the wind from the court, it arrived there with full force. As soon as it arrived, the mosquitoes couldn’t stay. They had to flee.
As the mosquitoes were fleeing, Solomon asked, “You want justice, so why are you running away?” The mosquito replied, “When the wind comes, we have to run, otherwise, we cannot save our lives.”
The same is the condition of humankind. As long as the feeling of ego (pride) exists within a person, they cannot find God, and when they find God, their ego is completely annihilated.
