क्रिकेट को लंबे समय तक सज्जनों का खेल माना गया, परंतु हाल की घटनाएं इसकी बदलती तस्वीर दिखाती हैं। आईपीएल-2026 की मिनी नीलामी में कोलकाता नाइट राइडर्स द्वारा बांग्लादेशी गेंदबाज मुस्तफिजुर रहमान की खरीद के बाद राजनीतिक और सामाजिक विवाद उभर आया। बांग्लादेश में अल्पसंख्यकों पर हिंसा को लेकर भारत में विरोध, बहिष्कार अभियान और दबाव तेज हुआ। परिणामस्वरूप बीसीसीआई ने खिलाड़ी को मुक्त करने का निर्देश दिया। यह प्रकरण बताता है कि खेल अब कूटनीति और राजनीति से प्रभावित हो रहा है। आवश्यक है कि क्रिकेट को इन प्रभावों से अलग रखा जाए, ताकि वह सद्भाव और खेल भावना का प्रतीक बना रहे।
