Don’t view terrorist incidents through the lens of religion

आतंकी घटनाओं को धर्म की नजर से न देखें

सिडनी ने अपने हीरो आहमद अल अहमद को सिर्फ सलाम नहीं किया, उसके साहस और इंसानियत की सराहना के लिए कई मिलियन डॉलर भी जुटा लिए। अहमद ने बिना डर के, गोलियों के सामने हमलावर को निहत्या किया और कई जिंदगियां बचाई। बहादुरी का कोई धर्म नहीं होता। ऑस्ट्रेलिया के बॉन्डी बीच पर हमला हुआ। हमलावर मुस्लमान था। फौरन उसे धर्म से जोड़कर पेश किया गया। मगर अहमद ने अपनी जान जोखिम में डालकर उसे रोका। लोगों को बचाया। वह मुस्लिम नहीं, होरी बन गया। अगर मुस्लिम अपराध करे, तो उसका धर्म दोष बन जाता है। अगर वही इंसानियत दिखाए, तो धर्म छुप जाता है। अहमद ने डर और नफरत के सामने खड़े होकर जिंदगियां बचाई। पूरा ऑस्ट्रेलिया जान गया कि बहादुरी का धर्म नहीं। अमेरिका को देखें। स्कूलों में बच्चों को मारने वाले ज्यादातर गोरे पुरुष हैं।

गोरों को कभी’ आतंकवादी’ नहीं कहा गया। बस डिस्टब्र्ल्ड इंडिविजुअल’ कहा गया। यह दोहरा मापदंड है। पिछले दो साल से फलस्तीनी मारे जा रहे हैं। वे ज्यादातर मुस्लिम हैं। पीड़ित समुदाय आतंकवादी बना दिया जाता है, पर बम गिराने वाले का आतंकी नहीं माना जाता। सोचिए, इन सबसे किसे फायदा होता है? यही खेल है। इस सूरतेहाल में अहमद सिर्फ नाम नहीं, एक जवाब है-नफरत के खिलाफ, झूठे नरेटिव के खिलाफ, इंसानियत के साथ। सच हमेशा वही रहा है- आतंक का कोई धर्म नहीं होता। मगर सत्ता हमेशा धर्म चुन लेती है, जिसे दोषी ठहराया जा सके।

अधिकतर मुसलमान आतंकवादी नहीं होते, फिर भी विश्व में उन्हें शंका की दृष्टि से देखा जाता है, आखिर क्यों? कहीं आतंकी घटना हुई नहीं कि लोग उसमें धर्म के तत्व ढूंढ़ निकालते हैं। यह गलात है। हमें आतंकवादियों को निशाना बनाना चाहिए, न कि आतंकियों के बहाने उसके धर्म को। अगर हम किसी घटना को धर्म के चश्मे से देखेंगे, तो कहीं न कहीं उस धर्म के प्रति समान में नफरत फैलाने में मददगार माने जाएंगे। इससे समाज में वैमनस्य और बढ़ेगा। अगर इस्लाम आतंकवादी सोच का ही पोषण करने वाला धर्म है, तो ऑस्ट्रेलिया में आतंकियों से सीधे टकराने वाले अहमद का धर्म भी जरा जान लीजिए। वह भी इस्लाम को मानने वाले हैं, लेकिन उनहनि अपनी जान की परवाह न करते हुए एक आतंको से हथियार होन लिए और कई जिंदगियां बच्चा ली। हमें यह समझना होगा कि आतंकवादी घटनाओं को अंजाम देने वाले लोग राह से भटके हुए हैं। हमें ऐसे लोगों की मानसिकता का इलाज करना है।

Immediately, the incident was linked to his religion. But Ahmed risked his life to stop him and saved people. He became a hero, not just a Muslim. If a Muslim commits a crime, his religion becomes the culprit. If the same person shows humanity, his religion is ignored. Ahmed stood against fear and hatred and saved lives. The whole of Australia learned that bravery has no religion. Look at America. Most of the people who kill children in schools are white men.

White people are never called ‘terrorists’. They are simply called ‘disturbed individuals’. This is a double standard. Palestinians have been killed for the past two years. They are mostly Muslim. The victim community is labeled as terrorists, but those who drop bombs are not considered terrorists. Think about who benefits from all this? This is the game. In this situation, Ahmed is not just a name, but an answer – against hatred, against false narratives, and for humanity. The truth has always been the same – terrorism has no religion. But power always chooses a religion to blame.

Most Muslims are not terrorists, yet they are viewed with suspicion worldwide. Why? As soon as a terrorist incident occurs, people look for religious elements in it. This is wrong. We should target the terrorists, not their religion. If we view an incident through the lens of religion, we will inevitably contribute to spreading hatred against that religion. This will only increase animosity in society. If Islam is a religion that only fosters terrorist ideology, then you should also know the religion of Ahmed, who directly confronted terrorists in Australia. He is also a follower of Islam, but he risked his own life to disarm a terrorist and saved many lives. We must understand that those who carry out terrorist acts are misguided. We need to address the mindset of such people.
