Old vehicles will not get fuel in Delhi from today

New Delhi, Chief Correspondent. Diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years will no longer be given fuel at petrol pumps in Delhi. For this, all petrol pumps in the state will be monitored with special ANPR cameras.

The number of vehicles that have completed their age in Delhi is around 62 lakh. In 2015, the National Green Authority had banned diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years. Later in the year 2018, the Supreme Court also issued orders in this regard. Now action has started on this. The Air Quality Management Commission has given instructions not to give fuel to old vehicles at all petrol pumps from July 1.

200 teams deployed around petrol pumps, cameras installed to identify old vehicles. The Transport Department and the Traffic Police, along with the Petrol Dealers Association, have made full preparations for this. More than 200 teams will be deployed around petrol pumps.

Special cameras installed at petrol pumps will identify old vehicles and give this information to the petrol pump employees on the speaker, after which such vehicles will be refused fuel.
