षष्ठी व्रत भगवान मुरुगन या स्कंद की पूजा
यह दिन भगवान शिव और माता पार्वती के ज्येष्ठ पुत्र भगवान कार्तिकेय (स्कंद) को समर्पित है। हर माह के शुक्ल पक्ष की षष्ठी तिथि को यह व्रत पूरी श्रद्धा के साथ रखा जाता है। मुख्य रूप से दक्षिण भारत में इस पर्व की धूम रहती है, जिसे मुरुगन या सुब्रह्मण्यम के नाम से भी जाना जाता है।
षष्ठी का पर्व बुराई पर अच्छाई की विजय का प्रतीक है, जो भगवान मुरुगन द्वारा राक्षस सुरपद्मन पर विजय का स्मरण कराता है । यह आत्म-शुद्धि, आस्था और समर्पण का समय है, जो भक्तों को दिव्य कृपा और आंतरिक शक्ति की याद दिलाता है।
This day is dedicated to Lord Kartikeya (Skanda), the elder son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. This fast is observed with great devotion on the sixth day (Shashti Tithi) of the bright half of every lunar month. This festival is primarily celebrated in South India, where Lord Kartikeya is also known as Murugan or Subrahmanya.
The Shashti festival symbolizes the victory of good over evil, commemorating Lord Murugan’s victory over the demon Surapadman. It is a time of self-purification, faith, and devotion, reminding devotees of divine grace and inner strength.
