ऐसे आरोप योग्य संतानों को रोक नहीं सकते

तब था, यह विषय फिर उठेगा। दरअसल, हर छोटे-बड़े चुनाब में यह मसला बौद्धिक जुगाली के लिए उठाया जाता है। हर बार खूब स्यापा होता है और फिर वही ढाक के तीन पात। समझ में नहीं आता कि बार-बार जनता की अदालत से खारिज होने के बाद भी लोग इसको छोड़ क्यों नहीं देते?

ऐसा नहीं है कि सिर्फ भारत में नेताओं के परिजन राजनीति में अपना करियर बनाते हैं। दुनिया के सबसे सफल लोकतंत्रों में से एक अमेरिका में निकट भविष्य में हमनें जॉर्ज डब्ल्यू बुश पिता-पुत्र को राष्ट्रपति चुने जाते देखा है। राष्ट्रपति बिल क्लिंटन की पत्नी हिलेरी भी राष्ट्रपति की रेस में उतर चुकी हैं, हालांकि वह कामयाब नहीं हुई, मगर उन्होंने बराक ओबामा के कार्यकाल में बतौर विदेश मंत्री काम किया। उनके विदेश मंत्री काल में ही दुर्दात आतंकी ओसामा बिन लादेन का सफाया हुआ था। ट्रंप के मौजूदा कार्यकाल में स्वास्थ्य मंत्री रॉबर्ट केनेडी पूर्व राष्ट्रपति जॉन एफ केनेडी के भतीजे हैं। जापान के पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री शिंजो आबे के दादा भी इस पद पर रह चुके थे। भारतीय उप-महाद्वीप में तो ऐसे नेताओं की एक लंबी सूची है। पाकिस्तान, बांग्लादेश, श्रीलंका, नेपाल, म्यांमार तमाम जगहों पर ऐसे लोग प्रधानमंत्री और राष्ट्रपति बन चुके हैं। इसलिए इस मुद्दे पर शोर मचाने से कुछ भी हासिल नहीं होने वाला। बेहतर होगा कि ऐसे नेताओं के खिलाफ अगर उनसे सुयोग्य कोई प्रत्याशी हो, तो उसकी जीत सुनिश्चित करने के लिए काम किया जाए। वैसे भी, नैसर्गिक न्याय यही कहता है कि हर व्यक्ति अपने कृत्यों का जिम्मेदार है। हत्यारे के पुत्र को क्या हत्यारा कहा जा सकता है? रावण के खानदान में विभीषण था। हिरण्यकश्यप के आधार पर यदि प्रह्लाद का मूल्यांकन किया गया, तब तो नाइंसाफी होगी।

लोकतंत्र में व्यक्ति से महत्वपूर्ण दल होना चाहिए और उसकी नीतियों के आधार पर ही जन-प्रतिनिधियों का चुनाव होना चाहिए। निस्संदेह, कई नेताओं की संतानें नाकारा होती हैं और जनता की उपेक्षा करती हैं, मगर यह भी कटु सत्य है कि बहुत से राजनीतिक परिवारों का अब कोई सदस्य सियासत में नहीं है। प्रिवी पर्स खत्म होने के बाद कई राजा संसद का चुनाव लड़े। कुछ जीते, तो कुछ को शिकस्त भी मिली। बाद में चंद रह गए। असली ताकत जनता के हाथों में है। वह जिसे चाहे नवाज दे, जिसको चाहे उतार दे। इसलिए अच्छा होगा कि लोकतंत्र में आस्था रखी जाए और उसे मजबूत करने के लिए, प्रतिरोध को सशक्त किया जाए। राजनीति में वंशवाद की लकीर पीटने से कुछ नहीं होने वाला, क्योंकि संविधान हर नागरिक को समान अधिकार देता है।

She served as Secretary of State during Barack Obama’s tenure. It was during his tenure as Secretary of State that the dreaded terrorist Osama bin Laden was eliminated. Robert Kennedy, the Health Secretary in Trump’s current term, is the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy. The grandfather of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe also held this position. The Indian subcontinent boasts a long list of such leaders. Such individuals have become Prime Ministers and Presidents in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Myanmar, among other places. Therefore, raising hue and cry over this issue will achieve nothing. It would be better to work to ensure the victory of a more capable candidate against such leaders. In any case, natural justice dictates that every individual is responsible for their actions. Can the son of a murderer be called a murderer? Ravana had Vibhishana in his family. It would be unfair to judge Prahlad based on Hiranyakashipu.

In a democracy, the party should be more important than the individual, and public representatives should be elected based on its policies. Undoubtedly, many leaders’ offspring are incompetent and neglect the public, but it is also a harsh truth that many political families no longer have any members in politics. After the abolition of the Privy Purse, many kings contested parliamentary elections. Some won, some lost. Only a few remained. The real power lies with the people. They can elevate whoever they choose, or remove whoever they choose. Therefore, it would be wise to have faith in democracy and, to strengthen it, empower the resistance. Dynastic politics will achieve nothing, because the Constitution guarantees equal rights to every citizen.
