इंडीज हैं। राह बहुत कठिन है या कहें, विश्व कप के पहले मैच से संदेह था कि भारतीय खिलाड़ी किसी बड़ी टीम के सामने ताश के पत्तों की तरह बिखर जाएंगे। सुपर आठ में दक्षिण अफ्रीका के सामने वे लेट ही गए। आगे जिम्बॉब्वे और वेस्ट नामुमकिन हो चली है, क्योंकि दोनों मैच जीतने हैं। शुरुआत में एक-दो विकेट जल्दी गिर जाएं, तो खिलाड़ियों के हाथ-पैर कांपने लगते हैं। अफ्रीका ने भारत के सामने पूरी रणनीति के तहत मैच खेला। भारतीय बल्लेबाजी में कोई योजना नहीं, ओपनर्स को तेज और अच्छी शुरुआत देनी है। बाकी मिडिल ऑर्डर खाली हाथ रहता है। सूर्य कुमार यादव ओवररेटेड बल्लेबाज हैं। यूएसए की पारी छोड़ दें, तो अब तक विश्व कप में चुइंगम ही अच्छी चबाई है। वाकई जिम्मेदारी लेनी है, तो तीसरे नंबर पर आएं और प्रदर्शन करें। आगे के दो मैच करो या मरो वाले हैं। पहले मैच में हार पिछली सारी जीत को कूड़े में फेंक देती है। ग्रुप स्टेज में कोई बड़ी टीम नहीं थी, फिर भी यूएसए, नामीबिया और नीदरलैंड ने पानी पिलवा ही दिया था। तिलक वर्मा नहीं चल रहे हैं, तो शिवम दुबे को ऊपर भेजना चाहिए, ताकि विकेट न गिरे, साझेदारी हो। खैर, जिस तरह की स्थिति है, वर्ल्ड कप में जल्द विदाई के आसार ही अधिक दिख रहे हैं।
