It is a distressing fact that a lot of people are overweight. I am aware, because for a long time I was at least one. Being 5’6″ and virtually 200 pounds isn’t a very good look. The nickname of mine among the friends of mine was “Wombat”. For those of you that are not Australian (not all of us may be so lucky!), a wombat is like a groundhog or a badger. Fat, round, slow moving and bad tempered. To be truthful, it was not the nickname I would want to target for myself. I always enjoyed Leopard. Or even Dragon. however, I have Wombat.
It was not as if I did not try to lose some weight. In fact sometimes I did. A bit. For a while. Although not enough so anyone noticed. One hundred and 80 seven pounds does not look much different to one 100 as well as 90 2 pounds. The Wombat lived.
I tried all sorts of diets and restricted eating regimes. The Atkins diet. The Pritikin diet. High protein diets. (Made me feel ill all of the time). Low carbohydrate diets. (Made me really exhausted I didn’t wish to do anything but lie around as well as watch television). Fruit diets! They really got things moving through my body but sadly did not make me lose weight. Vegetarian diets. Some of these diets helped for some time. I lost a few pounds but eventually got weary of the sameness of the meals and fast throw back on anything I’d very hard earned lost.
Additionally, I was hungry at all times.
