साधक का दायित्व
अपनी आध्यात्मिक आकांक्षा के तहत एक साधक ने प्रश्न किया कि गुरुजी, मनुष्य का अस्तित्व क्या है ? एक सच्या आध्यात्मिक आकांक्षी वह होता है, जो अपने जीवन को दो भार्गों में नहीं बांटता। नतो वह सिर्फ भौतिक संसार में उलझा रहता है और न ही संसार से पलायन करता है। उसका जीवन सापेक्ष जगत और आध्यात्मिक चेतना के बीच एक संतुलित सेतु बन जाता है।
ऐसा व्यक्ति इस सत्य को समझता है कि मनुष्य का अस्तित्व केवल शरीर तक सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि वह एक निरंतर विकसित होती चेतना का प्रवाह है। आध्यात्मिक साधक का पहला दायित्व है कि वह बाहरी संसार में अपने कर्तव्यों का ईमानदारी से निर्वहन करे। परिवार, समाज व मानवता के प्रति अपने उत्तरदायित्व निभाना किसी भी साधना या तप से अलग नहीं है। वस्तुनिष्ठ संसार में रहते हुए उसे परिस्थितियों के साथ विवेकपूर्ण समायोजन करना होता है, जहां न तो शोषण हो और न ही आत्म-समर्पण। ‘मैं किसी का शोषण नहीं करूंगा और न किसी को खुद के शोषण की इजाजत दूंगा- यह भावना स्वस्थ सामाजिक जीयन की नींव है।
याद रखिए, मानव जीवन एक लंबी विकास-यात्रा का परिणाम है। चेतना ने असंख्य योनियों से गुजरते हुए यह रूप पाया है। पशु जीवन भय, असुरक्षा और संघर्ष से भरा होता है। जंगलों में रहने वाला प्राणी हर क्षण किसी नकिसी खतरे से घिरा रहता है। वहां शक्तिशाली अपने सेकमजोर जीव को निगल जाता है। कुछ जानवर निरंतर बने रहने वाले इस भय से बचने के लिए मनुष्य की शरण में आते हैं, लेकिन विडंबना यह है कि ये अक्सर उस भरोसे की कीमत अपनी जान देकर चुकाते हैं। यह स्थिति हमें याद दिलाती है कि करुणा सिर्फ एक नैतिक उपदेश नहीं, बल्कि हमारी चेतना के विकास की कसौटी है।
जैसे, कोई स्त्री यदि अपमान का शिकार रही हो, तो उसे हमेशा यह सावधानी बरतनी चाहिए कि आगे वह वही पीड़ा न दोहराए। इसी प्रकार, मानव समाज को भी अपने अतीत के दुखों से सीख लेनी चाहिए। जिन प्राणियों ने कभी हमारे साथ विकास की यात्रा साझा की है, उनके प्रति संवेदनहीन होना दरअसल आध्यात्मिक पतन का संकेत है। सच्चा साधक यही है, जो किसी भी प्राणी को अनावश्यक कष्टन पहुंचने दे।
भौतिक जगत में न्याय व अधिकारों की रक्षा अत्यंत जरूरी है। हर व्यक्ति को जीवन की मूलभूत जरूरतें-भोजन, वस्त्र, आवास, शिक्षा और चिकित्सा उपलब्ध हो, यह सुनिश्चित करना समाज का कर्तव्य है। जबतक में आधारभूत जरूरतें पूरी नहीं होगी, आध्यात्मिक उन्नति कुछ विशेष लोगों तक सीमित रह जाएगी। एक आदर्श समाज की कल्पना तभी साकार हो सकती है, जब हर मनुष्य को गरिमापूर्ण जीवन मिले।
आध्यात्मिक साधक का पहला दायित्व है कि वह बाहरी संसार में अपने कर्तव्यों का ईमानदारी से निर्वहन करे। परिवार, समाज और मानवता के प्रति दायित्व निमाना साधना से अलग नहीं है।

In the course of his spiritual aspiration, a seeker asked, “Guruji, what is human existence?” A true spiritual aspirant is one who does not divide his life into two parts. He is neither entangled solely in the material world nor does he escape from it. His life becomes a balanced bridge between the relative world and spiritual consciousness.
Such a person understands the truth that human existence is not limited to the body, but is a constantly evolving flow of consciousness. The first responsibility of a spiritual seeker is to honestly perform his duties in the external world. Fulfilling his responsibilities to family, society, and humanity is no different from any spiritual practice or penance. Living in the objective world, he must adjust judiciously to circumstances, where there is neither exploitation nor self-surrender. “I will not exploit anyone, nor will I allow anyone to exploit me”—this feeling is the foundation of healthy social life.
Remember, human life is the result of a long evolutionary journey. Consciousness has attained this form after passing through countless births. Animal life is filled with fear, insecurity, and struggle. Animals living in the wild are constantly surrounded by some danger or the other. There, the stronger devour the weaker. Some animals seek refuge in humans to escape this constant fear, but ironically, they often pay the price for that trust with their lives. This situation reminds us that compassion is not merely a moral precept, but a test of the evolution of our consciousness.
For example, if a woman has been the victim of humiliation, she should always be careful not to repeat the same suffering in the future. Similarly, human society must learn from its past sufferings. Being insensitive to creatures who have once shared our journey of evolution is actually a sign of spiritual decline. A true seeker is one who does not allow any creature to suffer unnecessarily.
In the material world, the protection of justice and rights is extremely important. It is society’s duty to ensure that every person has access to the basic necessities of life—food, clothing, shelter, education, and medical care. Unless these basic needs are met, spiritual progress will be limited to a select few. The dream of an ideal society can only be realized when every human being enjoys a dignified life.
The primary responsibility of a spiritual seeker is to honestly perform his or her duties in the external world. Responsibility towards family, society, and humanity is inseparable from spiritual practice.
