किसानों को रुला रहा मौसम का मिजाज

अचानक बदले मौसम ने आम जनजीवन के साथ-साथ किसानों के सामने गंभीर संकट खड़ा कर दिया है। देश के कई हिस्सों में तेज हवाएं या धूल भरी आंधी, ओलावृष्टि और बेमौसम बारिश लोगों की परीक्षा ले रही हैं। इस अप्रत्याशित मौसम ने जाहां गमों से कुछ राहत दी है, वहीं खेतों में खड़ी रबी की फसलों को काफी हद तक नुकसान भी पहुंचाया है। विशेष रूप से, गेहूं, चना, जीरा और सौंफ जैसी फसलें कटाई के लिए पूरी तरह तैयार खड़ी थीं, लेकिन इस बेमौसम बारिश ने किसानों की मेहनत पर पानी फेर दिया है। वास्तव में, यह स्थिति किसानों के लिए दोहरी मार साबित होने वाली है। एक तो उनका उत्पादन घटता हुआ दिख रहा है, दूसरी ओर, उनकी आय कम हो जाएगी।

भारतीय मौसम विभाग के अनुसार, इस अचानक मौसमी बदलाव के पीछे पश्चिमी विक्षोभ और चक्रवात का हाथ है।

इसके कारण ही कई हिस्सों में तेज हवाओं के साथ-साथ बारिश और आंधी की स्थिति बनी। विभाग ने यह भी चेतावनी दी है कि अभी ऐसा मौसम बना रह सकता है। गौरतलब है कि किसानों के लिए यह समय अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण होता है, क्योंकि रवी फसलों की कटाई का दौर चल रहा होता है। महीनों की मेहनत के बाद जब फसल तैयार होती है, तब इस तरह मौसम में बदलाव उनकी सारी उम्मीदों को झटका दे देता है। बारिश के कारण कटाई में देरी होती है, फसलें भीग जाती हैं और कई बार तो पूरी तरह खराब भी हो जाती है। इसके अलावा, तेज हवाओं से फसलें गिर जाती हैं, जिससे उनकी कटाई भी कठिन हो जाती है। इससे उत्पादन में कमी आती है और किसान भाइयों को आर्थिक नुकसान उठाना पड़ता है। कृषि विशेषज्ञों का मानना है कि इस तरह के मौसमी बदलाव अब पहले की तुलना में अधिक देखने को मिल रहे हैं, जो जलवायु परिवर्तन का संकेत है। इसने खेती को पहले से अधिक जोखिम भरा बना दिया है। ऐसे में, किसानों को नई तकनीक अपनाने की आवश्यकता है, ताकि वे इस प्रकार की परिस्थिति का सामना बेहतर तरीके से कर सकें।

यह बेमौसम बारिश और आंधी केवल एक दिन की घटना नहीं है, बल्कि यह ठोस संकेत है कि मौसम का स्वरूप लगातार बदल रहा है और इसके प्रभाव दूरगामी हो सकते हैं। किसानों की चिंता इस बात को लेकर भी है कि यदि इसी प्रकार मौसम में उतार-चढ़ाव आता रहा, तो उनकी आय और जीवन, दोनों पर नकारात्मक असर पड़ेगा। इसलिए जरूरी है कि इस समस्या को पूरी गंभीरता से लिया जाए और दीर्घकालिक समाधान की दिशा में प्रयास किए जाएं।

Sudden changes in the weather have created a severe crisis for farmers, alongside disrupting the daily lives of the general public. In several parts of the country, strong winds—often accompanied by dust storms—hailstorms, and unseasonal rains are putting people to the test. While this unexpected weather has offered some respite from the heat, it has simultaneously inflicted significant damage upon the standing Rabi crops in the fields. In particular, crops such as wheat, gram, cumin, and fennel were standing fully ready for harvest; however, these unseasonal rains have dashed the hopes born of the farmers’ hard work. In reality, this situation is proving to be a double blow for the farmers: on one hand, their crop yield appears to be declining, and on the other, their income is set to diminish.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a Western Disturbance and a cyclonic circulation are behind this sudden shift in weather patterns.

It is due to these factors that conditions involving strong winds, rain, and storms have prevailed across several regions. The Department has also issued a warning that such weather conditions may persist for some time. It is noteworthy that this period is of critical importance to farmers, as it marks the ongoing harvest season for Rabi crops. After months of arduous labor, just as the crops reach maturity, such sudden weather shifts deliver a severe blow to all their hopes. The rains cause delays in harvesting, leave the crops soaked, and in many instances, result in their complete ruin. Furthermore, strong winds cause the crops to lodge (fall over), making the harvesting process even more difficult. This leads to a decline in production, forcing farmers to bear financial losses. Agricultural experts believe that such weather fluctuations are now being observed with greater frequency than in the past—a clear indication of climate change. This has rendered farming an even more precarious undertaking than before. Consequently, there is an urgent need for farmers to adopt new technologies and techniques to enable them to cope more effectively with such adverse circumstances. This unseasonal rain and storm is not merely a one-day occurrence; rather, it serves as a concrete indication that weather patterns are constantly shifting, and their repercussions could be far-reaching. Farmers are also concerned that if such weather fluctuations persist, they will have a negative impact on both their income and their livelihoods. Therefore, it is imperative that this issue be treated with the utmost seriousness and that efforts be directed toward finding long-term solutions.
