Today the world is once again terrified by the idea of a new war. The fire of unarmed war that was smoldering for so long, a spark of it flared up in Korea last Sunday. The whole world heard with surprise and fear that a war has broken out between Russia-sponsored North Korea and America-sponsored South Korea.
It is said that North Korea initiated the attack. Its modern educated armies equipped with Russian aircraft and tanks suddenly crossed the border at 4 am on Sunday and attacked South Korea. The United National Security Council, in the absence of Russia, has also declared North Korea as the aggressor and has appealed to the member nations to help South Korea. But Russia, China and its allied nations say that it was South Korea that initiated the war, North Korea has only responded to the attack. The speed and direction in which the fight has progressed shows that North Korea was fully prepared for the attack. In the first week of fighting, the South Korean forces have been broken and they have lost many important cities and fronts including the capital Seoul. If America had not provided immediate help in the form of arms, aircraft and navy, then probably South Korea would have surrendered by now. Now even the American land forces have reached the battlefield.
If we look at the role of this war, then we will see the rivalry between Russia and America at its root. Before the Second World War, Japan had control over Korea. At the time of its surrender, it was decided that Russia to the north of 38 degrees north latitude and America to the south should accept the surrender of the Japanese forces. It was also decided to free Korea and establish a democratic government there, but due to mutual competition, this could not happen and 38 degrees latitude became an iron rampart and stood between North and South Korea.
