मन के भीतर वैकुंठ
भक्ति के कई रूप हैं। लोग प्रायः ‘सच्ची भक्ति’ के भ्रम के शिकार हो जाते हैं। परमपुरुष की सेवा और रसंसार संसारक की सेवा, ये दो अलग-अलग कर्म नहीं हैं। यह संसार तो प्रमपुरुष की ही अभिव्यक्ति है। जो कुछ दिखाई देता है, जो कुछ जीवित है, वह उसी परम चेतना से उपजा है। इसलिए जब मनुष्य किसी भूखे को भोजन देता है, किसी दुखी के आंसू पोंछता है या किसी असहाय के लिए खड़ा होता है, तो वास्तव में वह परमपुरुष की ही सेवा कर रहा होता है। सच्चा भक्त मानवता की सेवा को भक्ति का अनिवार्य अंग ही मानता है।
भक्ति के सही मार्ग पर चलने वाला व्यक्ति जो कुछ भी करता है-गायन, नृत्य, कीर्तन, भजन, उन सबमें वह परमपुरुष की उपस्थिति का अनुभव करता है। यही भाव परमपुरुष को बहुत प्रिय है। वह चाहते हैं कि उनके भक्त हंसें, रोएं, अपने सुख-दुखउनके साथ साझा करें, उनके नाम का गान करें और जीवन का उत्सव मनाएं। भक्तों के बीच रहना, उनके गीत-संगीत और उल्लास को देखना, यही परमपुरुष का प्रिय निवास है।
परमात्मा ज्ञान के सर्वोच्च और अनंत भंडार हैं। कोई मनुष्य उनसे कैसे प्रतिस्पर्द्धा कर सकता है? यह असंभव है। मनुष्य की बुद्धि सीमित है, जबकि परमपुरुष अनंत ज्ञान से परिपूर्ण हैं। यही स्थिति कर्म के क्षेत्र में भी है। मनुष्य कितना ही बड़ा कर्मयोगी क्यों न हो, वह सर्वज्ञ नहीं हो सकता। इस सत्य को स्वीकार करना विनम्रता और भक्ति की पहली सीढ़ी है।
जब मनुष्य अपने से श्रेष्ठ के सामने आता है, तो उसके मन में अक्सर संकुचन पैदा होता है। अशिक्षित व्यक्ति विद्वान के सामने स्वयं को हीन अनुभव करता है, निर्धन व्यक्ति धनवान के सामने झिझकता है। यह मानसिक संकुचन ही कुंठा का कारण बनता है, किंतु एक ऐसी अवस्था भी है, जहां मन पूर्णतः मुक्त होता है, न हीनता, न श्रेष्ठता। यही अवस्था वैकुंठ है।
वैकुंठ कोई दूरस्थ स्वर्गलोक नहीं है, न ही किसी सातवें स्तर का नाम। वैकुंठ मन की वह स्थिति है, जहां मनुष्य परमपुरुष के सामने अपनेपन का अनुभव करता है। जैसे कोई पुत्र अपने विद्वान पिता के सामने कुंठा से ग्रसित नहीं होता, वैसे ही भक्त परमपुरुष के सामने स्वयं को छोटा या बड़ा नहीं मानता। वहां संबंध प्रेम का होता है, प्रतियोगिता का नहीं।
मनुष्य का स्वभाव है सुख में हंसना, दुख में रोना। ये सबमानवीय अनुभूतियां हैं। परमपुरुष चाहते हैं कि मनुष्य इन भावनाओं को जिए। इसलिए सामान्य जन हों या असाधारण बुद्धिजीवी, सबके लिए भक्ति का मार्ग सर्वोत्तम है। चिंतन करें, कीर्तन करें और समाज सेवा को अपना धर्म बनाएं। यही वह मार्ग है, जो मनुष्य को परमपुरुष से जोड़ता है और जीवन को सार्थकता देता है।
जैसे कोई पुत्र अपने विद्वान पिता के सामने कुंठा से ग्रसित नहीं होता, वैसे ही भक्त परमपुरुष के सामने स्वयं को छोटा या बड़ा नहीं मानता। वहां संबंध प्रेम का होता है, प्रतियोगिता का नहीं।

There are many forms of devotion. People often fall prey to the illusion of “true devotion.” Serving the Supreme Being and serving the material world are not two separate actions. This world is merely a manifestation of the Supreme Being. Everything visible, everything alive, stems from that Supreme Consciousness. Therefore, when a person feeds the hungry, wipes the tears of the distressed, or stands up for the helpless, they are actually serving the Supreme Being. A true devotee considers service to humanity an essential part of devotion.
Those who follow the true path of devotion experience the presence of the Supreme Being in everything they do—singing, dancing, chanting, and bhajans. This very feeling is dear to the Supreme Being. He wants his devotees to laugh, cry, share their joys and sorrows with him, sing his name, and celebrate life. Living among devotees, witnessing their songs, music, and joy, is the Supreme Being’s beloved abode.
God is the supreme and infinite repository of knowledge. How can any human being compete with Him? It is impossible. Human intellect is limited, whereas the Supreme Being is full of infinite knowledge. The same situation applies in the field of action. No matter how great a karma yogi a person is, he cannot be omniscient. Accepting this truth is the first step towards humility and devotion.
When a person faces someone superior to him, he often experiences a sense of constriction. An uneducated person feels inferior to a learned person, a poor person hesitates before a wealthy person. This mental constriction causes frustration. But there is a state where the mind is completely free, experiencing neither inferiority nor superiority. This state is Vaikuntha.
Vaikuntha is not a distant heaven, nor the name of a seventh plane. Vaikuntha is that state of mind where a person feels a sense of belonging in the presence of the Supreme Being. Just as a son never feels frustrated in front of his learned father, similarly a devotee does not consider himself superior or inferior to the Supreme Being. The relationship there is one of love, not competition.
It is human nature to laugh in happiness and cry in sorrow. These are all human experiences. The Supreme Being wants humans to live these emotions. Therefore, the path of devotion is best for everyone, whether ordinary or extraordinary intellectuals. Meditate, chant, and make social service your religion. This is the path that connects humans to the Supreme Being and gives meaning to life.
