Republic Day 2023 will be celebrated on January 26 in Delhi’s Kartavya Path, with President Murmu raising the national flag. The Republic Day 2023 parade is a televised event that millions of Indians watch every day from their homes.

Republic Day marks the adoption of India’s constitution and the country’s transition to a republic on January 26, 1950. Every year, the celebrations marking the day feature spectacular military and cultural pageantry. In New Delhi, armed forces personnel march along the Kartavya path in an elaborate display of military might. The epic show on Kartavya path eclipses everything else happening across the country on this auspicious day.

The celebrations, inaugurated with a grand parade, are held in the capital, New Delhi, from Raisina Hill near the Rashtrapati Bhavan (President’s House), along the Kartavya path, past India Gate and onto the historic Red Fort. On this day, ceremonious parades take place at the Kartavya path, which is performed as a tribute to India, its unity in diversity and its rich cultural heritage by the states of India by building beautiful tableaus.

 Check Your LIC Policy status on WhatsApp

Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India has started for first time interactive WhatsApp services for its registered LIC policyholders. The insurancegiant made the announcement. Shri M.R. Kumar, the chair of LIC of India, introduced a few of the company’s interactive services to policyholders via WhatsApp.

How to use LIC WhatsApp services 

The insurer said that “policyholders who have registered their Policies on the LIC Portal will be able to make use of these services on WhatsApp.”

Policyholders should text ‘Hi’ on mobile no. 8976862090 from their registered mobile number. The following screen will help policyholders to avail listed services. Choose the option number for selection of services.

• Loan eligibility quotation

1: Visit www.licindia.in and Click on “Customer Portal”

2: If you have not registered earlier for Customer Portal, click on “New user”

3: Provide the following details:

4: Visit www.licindia.in, click on the tab “new User”, select your own user-id and password and provide all the necessary information. Now you are a registered Portal user.

5: Click the “e-Services” tab, log in using the user ID you created, and register your policies for using the e-services by filling out the provided form.

6: Print the form, sign it and upload the scanned image of the form.

7: Upload the scanned image of PAN Card or Aadhaar Card or Passport.

8: After verification by LIC offices, an acknowledgement e-mail and SMS will be sent to you. Now you are ready to avail our e-services.

9: Click on Submit button

10: Choose the user id and password of your choice and submit.

11: Login and click on the option of ‘Basic Services’ >“Add Policy”

12: Enroll all your remaining policies.

Hyundai’s i30 is a European supermini which stretches the four-meter mark and thus won’t benefit the hatchback rule in India. It is feature loaded as well with a bigger engine which makes the i30 a very expensive product. Its price tag could stretch into and beyond the C-segment sedan’s territory.

Twitter layoffs update: Musk reportedly fires over 4,000 more employees without prior notice

The mayhem at Twitter under the rule of new boss Elon Musk continues. After recently firing nearly half of its workforce, the microblogging platform has now reportedly laid off another major chunk of its contractual employees. According to the information acquired by Platformer’s Casey Newton, Twitter on Saturday dismissed 4,400 of its 5,500 contract employees without any prior warning.

“Update: company sources tell me that yesterday Twitter eliminated ~4,400 of its ~5,500 contract employees, with cuts expected to have a significant impact to content moderation and the core infrastructure services that keep the site up and running. People inside are stunned,” Newton wrote in his tweet.

One of the affected workers, while commenting on Newton’s tweet said that the information was correct and that he learnt about his job loss only when he tried accessing his work systems realising it was gone.

Corroborating this information is a separate CNBC report that states the affected workers weren’t given any advanced notice of the dismissal. The employees discovered after they were suddenly unable to access slack and their official email. Some of these workers were based in India as well. It further reports that Twitter has also removed its internal communication team.

A Business Insider report states that the layoff happened across various departments including content moderation, real estate and marketing. Reportedly, Twitter calls the recent job cuts part of a “reprioritization and savings exercise.”

Things are going haywire at Twitter ever since Musk took over the company in a deal worth $44 billion. The company recently laid off nearly 3,700 employees via email an efforts to cut down on costs. The company, however, later called back some of its employees with sources revealing that some of the workers were laid off by mistake.
