सही परिचय देना सीखिए
आज के समय में लोगों को अपना परिचय देना भी नहीं आता है, अतः एक दूसरे को जानने-पहचानने में भी समस्याएं उत्पन्न होती हैं। मैं रामायण का एक प्रसंग सुनाता है, जिससे आपको पता चलेगा कि किसी को कैसे अपना परिचय देना चाहिए।
लंका के राज दरबार में हनुमान जी ने कहा रावण से कि ‘मैं दास हूं।’ दास मतलब नौकर, सेवक। हनुमान जी नेयह नहीं कहा कि मैं रामजी का पहले दर्जे का अधिकारी हूं। हनुमान जी ने स्वयं को कोसलेंद्र जी का दास बताया।
रावण ने पूछा, ‘कोसलेंद्र तो कई हुए हैं, तुम किस कोसलेंद्र के दास हो ?’ तब हनुमान जी ने बताया, ‘मैं कोसलेंद्रराम का दास हूं।’ यह सुनकर रावण ने अट्टाहास किया और पूछा, ‘क्या वही राम, जो घर से निकाल दिया गया है? जिसने पत्नी के खो जाने के कारण रो-रोकर आंखों के नीचे कालिमा प्राप्त कर ली है? वही राम ? जिसकी दाढ़ी बढ़ गई है, जिसने जटाएं बना ली हैं, जो नंगे पांव चल रहा है, जो पूरी दुर्गति को झेल रहा है, वही राम ?’ तब हनुमान जी ने सुधारा, ‘नहीं, नहीं, वह राम नहीं। जिनके लिए दुनिया में कोई काम क्लिष्ट कर्मणा या कठिन नहीं है, मैं उन राम जी का दास हूं।’
तब रावण ने पूछा, ‘अब यह बताओ कि तुम्हारा नाम क्या है?’ हनुमान जी ने उत्तर दिया, ‘हनुमान मेरा नाम है।’ फिर रावण ने पूछा, तुम काम क्या करते हो? दास तो बहुत हैं, उनके बहुत काम होते हैं, यह बताओ कि तुम्हारे पास क्या काम है?’ तब हनुमान जी ने कहा, ‘मेरे राम जी का जो शत्रु होता है, उसे मैं पीटता हूं। शत्रु सेना निहंता। मेरे राम जी से जो शत्रुता करेगा, उसे मैं मारूंगा।’
यहां यह बताने की आवश्यकता नहीं कि हनुमान जी अतुलित रूप से निर्भय हैं। तब जो समय था, रावण का नाम सुनकर अन्य राजा अपना भवन छोड़कर भाग खड़े होते थे, किसी भी तरह से जान बचाने के उपक्रम में लग जाते थे। ऐसे रावण की सभा में हनुमान जी ने कह दिया कि जो राम का शत्रु होता है, उसे मैं मारता हूं। भक्त शिरोमणि हनुमान जी ने प्रभावशाली, शक्तिशाली, अत्याचारी रावण की भरी सभा में ऐसा कह दिया।
तब रावण ने पूछा, ‘तुम्हारे पिता का क्या नाम है?” हनुमान जी ने उत्तर दिया, ‘मैं पवन देव का पुत्र हूं।’ इससे आप जानिए कि अपना परिचय कैसे दिया जाता है। आप जब किसी से मिलें, तो पहले अपना काम बताना चाहिए कि आप क्या करते हैं। जो पढ़ने वाला विद्यार्थी है, वह पहले बताए कि मैं पढ़ता हूं, मैं क्या पढ़ता हूं और उसके बाद वह अपने स्वामी, गुरु, पिता का नाम आगे रखते हुए अपना नाम बताए। सही प्रकार से परिचय देने से व्यक्ति के सम्मान में वृद्धि होती है। यदि आप कहीं जाएं और सही परिचय न दे पाएं, तो काम बिगड़ जाता है और सही परिचय से बिगड़ता काम भी बन जाता है।

These days, people don’t even know how to introduce themselves, which can lead to problems in getting to know each other. I’ll narrate an incident from the Ramayana, which will show you how to introduce yourself.
In the royal court of Lanka, Hanuman said to Ravana, “I am a slave.” “Das” means servant. Hanuman didn’t say that he was Ram’s first-class officer. Hanuman introduced himself as the slave of Kosalendra.
Ravana asked, “There have been many Kosalendras, which Kosalendra’s slave are you?” Hanuman replied, “I am the slave of Kosalendra Ram.” Hearing this, Ravana burst out laughing and asked, “Is that the same Ram who was banished from his home? The one who has grown dark circles under his eyes from crying over the loss of his wife? The same Ram? The one whose beard has grown, who has dreadlocks, who walks barefoot, who is enduring utter misery, is that the same Ram?” Then Hanuman corrected himself, “No, no, that’s not Ram. I am the servant of that Ram for whom no task in the world is complex or difficult.”
Ravana then asked, “Now tell me, what is your name?” Hanuman replied, “My name is Hanuman.” Ravana then asked, “What do you do? There are many servants, they have a lot of work. Tell me, what work do you have?” Hanuman replied, “I beat anyone who is an enemy of my Ram. The enemy army is defenseless. I will kill anyone who will be hostile to my Ram.”
It goes without saying that Hanuman is incredibly fearless. At that time, other kings would flee their palaces upon hearing Ravana’s name, trying to save their lives by any means necessary. In Ravana’s court, Hanuman declared, “I kill anyone who is an enemy of Ram.” The most revered devotee, Hanuman, said this in the presence of the influential, powerful, and tyrannical Ravana.
Ravana then asked, “What is your father’s name?” Hanuman replied, “I am the son of the wind god.” This teaches you how to introduce yourself. When you meet someone, you should first state your work and what you do. A student should first state his studies, what he studies, and then state his name, followed by the names of his master, guru, or father. Proper introduction increases a person’s respect. If you go somewhere and fail to introduce yourself correctly, your work will be ruined, and a proper introduction can even rectify the situation.
In the court of Lanka, Hanuman said to Ravana, “I am a slave.” Das means servant. He did not say that he was a first-class officer of Lord Rama. He simply described himself as a slave.
