End of life vehicles in Delhi have got relief till October. In the meeting of the Air Quality Management Commission held on Tuesday, the decision to not give fuel to old vehicles was postponed till November 1.
From November, this campaign will be run in Delhi as well as five districts of NCR with high vehicle density, Faridabad, Gurugram, Sonipat, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar. At the same time, this ban will be implemented in the rest of the districts of NCR from April 1, 2026.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that this is a commendable decision. The government welcomes it. We will move forward with all the parties towards a long-term, equitable and practical solution. We believe that as much as it is necessary to protect the environment, it is equally important that no decision affects the livelihood and dignity of the common citizens.

Automatic number plate recognition cameras have been installed at petrol pumps in Delhi to detect vehicles that have completed their life span. The camera reads the number plate of the vehicles and checks it with the database. If the vehicle’s time limit has been completed, it alerts the employees.
The decision was withdrawn after considering the objections
The objections of the Delhi government were considered in depth in the meeting of the commission. According to sources, in the meeting, the fact of filling fuel from NCR districts in case pollution restrictions are implemented only in Delhi was presented. It was also said that the entire system is not working properly at the petrol pumps and complaints are coming.
The ban was from July 1: The commission had earlier given instructions to implement it on all petrol pumps in Delhi from July 1. After the implementation of the instructions, objections were being raised from different sections regarding the ban. Delhi’s Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa welcomed the decision and said that the government stands with the people of Delhi.

Sirsa had written a letter to the commission on this issue on July 3. It was said that this ban should be relaxed till it is implemented simultaneously in the entire NCR.
अपनी उम्र पूरी कर चुके (एंड ऑफ लाइफ) दिल्ली के वाहनों को अक्तूबर तक राहत मिल गई है। वायु गुणवत्ता प्रबंधन आयोग की मंगलवार को हुई बैठक में पुराने वाहनों को इंधन न देने का फैसला एक नवंबर तक के लिए टाल दिया गया।
नवंबर से यह अभियान दिल्ली के साथ ही ज्यादा वाहन घनत्व वाले एनसीआर के पांच जिलों फरीदाबाद, गुरुग्राम, सोनीपत, गाजियाबाद और गौतमबुद्ध नगर में चलाया जाएगा। वहीं, एनसीआर के बाकी जिलों में यह पाबंदी एक अप्रैल 2026 से लागू की जाएगी।
दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने कहा कि यह सराहनीय निर्णय है। सरकार इसका स्वागत करती है। हम सभी पक्षों के साथ दीर्घकालिक, न्यायसंगत और व्यावहारिक समाधान की दिशा में आगे बढ़ेंगे। हम मानते हैं कि पर्यावरण की रक्षा जितनी आवश्यक है, उतना ही जरूरी यह है कि कोई निर्णय आम नागरिकों की आजीविका और गरिमा को प्रभावित न करे।

दिल्ली के पेट्रोल पंपों पर समय सीमा पूरी कर चुके वाहनों का पता लगाने के लिए स्वचालित नंबर प्लेट पहचान कैमरे लगाए है। कैमरा वाहनों की नंबर प्लेट को पढ़ता है और डाटाबेस से जांच करता है। अगर वाहन की समय सीमा पूरी हो चुकी है, तो ये कर्मचारियों को सचेत करता है।
आपत्तियों पर विचार के बाद फैसला वापस लिया
आयोग की बैठक में दिल्ली सरकार की आपत्तियों पर गहराई से विचार किया गया। सूत्रों के मुताबिक, बैठक में केवल दिल्ली में प्रदूषण पाबंदी लागू होने की दशा में एनसीआर जिलों से ईंधन भराए जाने का तथ्य रखा गया। पेट्रोल पंपों पर पूरा सिस्टम ठीक से काम नहीं करने और शिकायतें आने की बात भी कही गई।
एक जुलाई से थी रोकः आयोग ने पहले एक जुलाई से दिल्ली के सभी पेट्रोल पंपों पर इसे लागू करने के निर्देश दिए थे। निर्देशों के लागू होने के बाद अलग-अलग वर्गों की ओर से पाबंदी को लेकर आपत्ति जताई जा रही थी। दिल्ली के पर्यावरण मंत्री मनजिंदर सिंह सिरसा ने फैसले का स्वागत करते हुए कहा कि सरकार दिल्ली की जनता के साथ खड़ी है।
कैमरे लगाए गए थे पेट्रोल पंपों पर समय सीमा पूरी कर चुके वाहनों का पता लगाने के लिए स्वचालित नंबर प्लेट पहचान कैमरे लगाए है। कैमरा वाहनों की नंबर प्लेट को पढ़कर डाटाबेस से मिलान करके पुराने वाहनों की पहचान कर पंपकर्मियों को अलर्ट भेजता है।
सिरसा ने इस मुद्दे पर तीन जुलाई को आयोग को पत्र लिखा था। इसमें कहा गया था कि पूरे एनसीआर में एक साथ लागू होने तक इस पाबंदी में राहत दी जानी चाहिए।
