Same potatoes, same roti!

Osho was appointed as a professor in a college. Most of the professors’ houses were at a great distance from the college, so everyone brought food from home and sat together for lunch. The person sitting next to Osho opened his tiffin and said, “Same potatoes, same roti!”

Osho thought that maybe he did not like eating potatoes and roti. Since Osho was new there, he did not say anything. The same thing happened again the next day. That professor opened his tiffin, looked at it and sighed and said, “Same potatoes, same roti!”

This time Osho said, “If you do not like potatoes, then why don’t you ask to make something else at home?”

To this the professor said, “Who will I tell at home! I cook my own food.”

While narrating this incident in one of his discourses, Osho says, “Whatever you have done, whatever you are doing or whatever you will do, it is not separate from you. It is your life.” If you are feeling pain, it is your choice. If you are happy, it is also your decision. There is no one else. No one else is to blame.
