तीन चोर
एक गांव में तीन चोर रहते थे। एक रात उन्होंने एक धनी आदमी के यहां चोरी की। उन्होंने सारा धन एक थैले में भरा और उसे लेकर जंगल की ओर भाग निकले। वे तीनों सुबह से काम पर निकले हुए थे। जंगल में पहुंचने पर उन्हें जोर की भूख लगी, पर वहां खाने को कुछ नहीं था, इसलिए उनमें से एक चोर पास के एक गांव में खाना लेने गया। बाकी दोनों चोर जंगल में चोरी के माल की रखवाली कर रहे थे।
जो चोर खाना लेने गया था, उसकी नीयत खराब हो गई थी। पहले उसने होटल में खुद भोजन किया और फिर उसने अपने साथियों के लिए खाना खरीद कर उसमें तेज जहर मिला दिया। उसने सोचा कि जहरीला खाना खाकर उसके दोनों साथी मर जाएंगे, तो सारा धन उसका हो जाएगा। यही सोचकर वह दोस्तों की दिशा में तेजी से कदम बढ़ाने लगा।
इधर जंगल में दोनों चोरों ने खाना लेने गए अपने साथी चोर की हत्या करने की योजना बना ली थी। वे उसे अपने रास्ते से हटाकर सारा धन आपस में बांट लेना चाहते थे। वे भी बेसब्री से उस चोर के लौटने की प्रतीक्षा करने लगे।
तीनों चोरों ने अपनी-अपनी योजनाओं के अनुसार कार्य किया। पहला चोर जैसे ही जहरीला भोजन लेकर जंगल में पहुंचा। उसके दोनों साथी उस पर टूट पड़े। उन्होंने उसका काम तमाम कर दिया, फिर वे भोजन करने बैठ गए। मगर जहरीला भोजन खाते ही वे दोनों भी तड़प-तड़प कर मर गए। इस प्रकार तीनों का अंत भी बुरा ही हुआ।
Three thieves lived in a village. One night, they stole from a wealthy man. They packed all the money into a bag and fled into the forest. All three had been out on a mission since morning. Upon reaching the forest, they felt very hungry, but there was nothing to eat. So one of them went to a nearby village to get food. The other two thieves were guarding the stolen goods in the forest.
The thief who had gone to get food had evil intentions. First, he ate at a hotel, then bought food for his companions and mixed it with a strong poison. He thought that if his companions died after eating the poisoned food, he would inherit all the money. With this thought in mind, he began to move quickly towards his friends.
Meanwhile, in the forest, the two thieves had hatched a plan to murder their fellow thief who had gone to get food. They wanted to remove him from their path and divide the money among themselves. They also waited impatiently for the thief to return.
The three thieves acted according to their plans. As soon as the first thief arrived in the forest with the poisoned food, his two companions pounced on him. They finished him off, then sat down to eat. But upon eating the poisoned food, they both died in agony. Thus, all three met a disastrous end.
