जिधर हवा ले जाए

जापान में दो प्रतिद्वंद्वी मंदिरों के पुजारी एक-दूसरे से बहुत बैर रखते थे। सदियों से उन्होंने आपस में बात करना बंद कर दिया था। दोनों पुजारियों के पास छोटे लड़के थे, जो उनके काम करते थे। दोनों पुजारियों ने अपने-अपने लड़कों से कहा कि वे दूसरे मंदिर के लड़के से कभी बात न करें।

एक दिन, एक मंदिर के लड़के ने दूसरे लड़के से सड़क पर पूछ लिया, ‘तुम कहां जा रहे हो ?’

दूसरा लड़के ने अपने गुरु से कुछ बातें सुनी हुई थी। उसी दार्शनिक अंदाज में बोला, ‘जाना? कोई आता-जाता नहीं! मैं तो एक सूखे पत्ते की तरह हूं, जिधर हवा मुझे ले जाती है, उधर चला जाता हूं।’

यह सुनकर पहला लड़का हक्का-बक्का रह गया। शर्मिंदा होकर गुरु के पास गया। गुरु ने उसे तैयार करके भेजा और कहा कि अगली बार वह पूछे, ‘जब हवा नहीं

चल रही होगी, तब तुम कहां जाओगे?’ अगले दिन, पहले लड़के ने फिर पूछा, ‘तुम कहां जा रहे हो ?’

लेकिन इस बार दूसरे लड़के ने कोई दर्शन की बात नहीं की। सहजता से कहा, ‘जहां मेरे पैर मुझे ले जाएंगे।’

पहले लड़के की पूरी तैयारी धरी रह गई। वह फिर अपमानित महसूस करते हुए वापस गुरु के पास गया। गुरु ने उसे फिर एक जवाब सिखाया, ‘ठीक है, पर अगर तुम्हारे पैर ही न होते, तो तुम कहां जाते ?’

तीसरे दिन, पहले लड़के ने फिर पूछा, ‘तुम कहां जा रहे हो?’ इस बार, दूसरे लड़के ने सीधे कहा, ‘मैं सब्जी लेने बाजार जा रहा हूं।’

ओशो कहते हैं कि इंसान आमतौर पर अतीत में मिले जवाबों या सीखी हुई बातों के आधार पर काम करता है, लेकिन जीवन हर पल बदलता रहता है। हमें आज में रहकर बिना किसी पूर्वाग्रह के, परिस्थिति के अनुसार जवाब देना सीखना चाहिए।

In Japan, the priests of two rival temples held a deep grudge against each other. They had stopped talking for centuries. Both priests had young boys who worked for them. Both priests told their boys never to talk to the boy from the other temple.

One day, a boy from one temple asked the other on the street, “Where are you going?”

The other boy had heard some things from his guru. In the same philosophical tone, he said, “Going? No one comes or goes! I am like a dry leaf, I go wherever the wind takes me.”

Hearing this, the first boy was stunned. Embarrassed, he went to his guru. The guru prepared him and sent him away, telling him to ask next time, “When the wind isn’t blowing, where will you go?” The next day, the first boy asked again, “Where are you going?”

But this time, the second boy didn’t mention any vision. He simply said, “Wherever my feet take me.”

The first boy’s preparations were in vain. Feeling humiliated, he went back to the guru. The guru taught him another answer, “Okay, but if you didn’t have feet, where would you go?”

On the third day, the first boy asked again, “Where are you going?” This time, the second boy simply said, “I’m going to the market to buy vegetables.”

Osho says that humans usually act based on past answers or lessons learned, but life changes every moment. We must learn to live in the present and respond to the situation without any prejudice.
