The Purpose of Children’s Day Remains Unfulfilled

बाल दिवस का मकसद अब तक अधूरा

आज (14 नवंबर) भारत के प्रथम प्रधानमंत्री पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरू का जन्मदिवस है। यह दिन बाल दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। पंडित नेहरू ने बच्चों के लिए कहा था, ‘आज के बच्चे कल के भारत का निर्माण करेंगे। हम जिस तरह से बच्चों की परवरिश करते हैं, उससे भारत का भविष्य तय होता है।’ मगर क्या हम नेहरू जी की इन बातों का असल अर्थ समझ सके हैं? स्थिति यह है कि एक तरफ देश बाल दिवस मनाता है, तो दूसरी तरफ गरीबी की मार झेल रहे बच्चे पेट भरने के लिए कड़ी मशक्कत करने को मजबूर होते हैं। यह देश के लिए शर्मनाक तस्वीर है।

गरीबी ही नहीं, कुपोषण के मामले में भी आज भारत की अच्छी स्थिति नहीं है। हर गरीब इंसान अपने बच्चों के भविष्य के सुनहरे सपने देखता है, लेकिन मजबूरी के कारण उसके सपने चकनाचूर हो जाते हैं। वह चाहकर भी कुछ नहीं कर पाता। क्या किसी सरकार ने गरीब बच्चों के बारे में गंभीरता से यह सोचा है कि उनके सपने को कैसे पूरा किया जाए? कुछ बच्चे तो पढ़ाई-लिखाई भी करना चाहते हैं, पर पेट भरने के लिए उन्हें पहले मजदूरी करने को बाध्य होना पड़ता है। कहने के लिए मुफ्त शिक्षा की संकल्पना देश में की गई है। कई तरह की योजनाएं भी चलाई जा रही हैं। इसके पीछे सोच यही थी कि हर बच्चा साक्षर बनेगा। मगर शायद इन योजनाओं को भ्रष्टाचार का ग्रहण लगा हुआ है, जिसके कारण जरूरतमंदों को इनका लाभ नहीं मिल पाता। क्या आज कोई ऐसा है, जो इन बच्चों के दुख-दर्द को समझ सके? मेरा तो वही मानना है कि इन बच्चों की मानसिकता समझे बिना बाल दिवस मनाने का कोई औचित्य नहीं है। जब तक गरीब से गरीब बच्चा भी पढ़ेगा लिखेगा नहीं या तीनों वक्त भरपेट भोजन

अनजाने। धर्म की, जाति की, प्रांत-भसंकीर्णताओं में घिरा मन कैसे समझे कि आजाद हुए, आपने जैसे ही लोकतंत्र स्व जीवन के व जीने के आधार बदल जाते हैं? पंडित नेहरू किसी राजनीतिक संयोग जीवन में निर्णय की आवश्यकता क आवश्यकता तभी होती है, जब कोई उल उलझन ही नहीं, तो निर्णय की भी आवश्यक मेज पर लकड़ी का कोई टुकड़ा पड़ा हो और तो क्या तुम निर्णय करोगे कि तुम्हें क्या खान के लिए ही होता है और चुनाव हमेशा परेशान सभी निर्णयकर्ता परेशान रहते हैं। जब तुम तब वहां स्वतंत्रता नहीं होती।

याद रखो, नाटकीयता के अभाव में कृत्य तुम्हारे भीतर एक नायक भी है और एक दर्शव असमंजस में है या निश्चयपूर्ण, लेकिन दन नहीं कर पाएगा, तब तक हर बाल दिवस हमें सामाजिक विसंगति की याद ही दिलाता रहेगा।

जरूरी यही है कि भावी पीढ़ी को आर्दश नागरिक बनाने के गंभीर प्रयास किए जाएं। विद्यार्थियों को कुछ ऐसा पढ़ाया जाए कि वे अच्छे डॉक्टर, वकील, इंजीनियर या अन्य विशेषज्ञ व अफसर बनने के साथ एक आर्दश नागरिक बनें। देश में गलत काम के होने और बढ़ने का एक कारण यह भी है कि शुरू से ही बच्चों को नैतिक ज्ञान नहीं मिल पाता। इसी के साथ स्थानीय इतिहास, परंपरा, रीति-रिवाजों और अपने राज्य के बारे भी उनको पता होना चाहिए, ताकि उनका भविष्य अच्छा बन सके। यही कारण है कि बाल दिवस को सार्थक तरीके से मनाना चाहिए। वक्त की यही जरूरत है।

Pandit Nehru said about children, “Today’s children will build tomorrow’s India. The way we raise children determines India’s future.” But have we truly understood the meaning of Nehru’s words? The situation is such that on one hand, the country celebrates Children’s Day, while on the other, children suffering from poverty are forced to struggle hard to make ends meet. This is a shameful picture for the country.

Not only poverty, but malnutrition is also a poor state in India today. Every poor person dreams of a bright future for their children, but due to constraints, their dreams are shattered. They are unable to do anything even if they want to. Has any government seriously considered how to fulfill the dreams of poor children? Some children even want to study, but to feed themselves, they are forced to work first. The concept of free education has been introduced in the country. Various schemes are also being implemented. The idea behind this was that every child would become literate. But perhaps these schemes are plagued by corruption, preventing the needy from benefiting from them. Is there anyone today who can understand the pain and suffering of these children? I believe that celebrating Children’s Day without understanding their mentality is meaningless. Until even the poorest child can read and write, or have a full meal three times a day, they will not be able to do so.

Unknowingly. How can a mind, engulfed in religious, caste, and provincial narrow-mindedness, understand that as soon as one becomes free, one’s own life and the foundations of democracy change? Pandit Nehru: “Decisions are necessary in any political situation only when there is no confusion. Decisions are necessary only when there is a piece of wood lying on the table. Will you decide what to eat? Elections are always a preoccupation, and all decision-makers are troubled. When you are free, there is no freedom.”

Remember, in the absence of drama, there is a hero within you, and a vision is either confused or determined. But until then, every Children’s Day will remind us of social anomalies.

It is essential that serious efforts be made to shape the future generation into ideal citizens. Students should be taught something that will help them become good doctors, lawyers, engineers, or other specialists and officers, as well as ideal citizens. One of the reasons for the rise and rise of wrongdoing in the country is that children are deprived of moral education from an early age. They should also be aware of local history, traditions, customs, and their state, so that they can have a better future. This is why Children’s Day should be celebrated in a meaningful way. This is the need of the hour.
