यह ईंधन बिना किसी पेट्रोलियम के मिलाए सीधे विमान में इस्तेमाल किया जा सकता है। इसे हाइड्रोथर्मल द्रवीकरण (एचटीएल) कहते हैं। यह एक थर्मोकेमिकल प्रक्रिया है, जिसमें बचे हुए भोजन या जैविक कचरे को तेज तापमान और दबाव में बदल दिया जाता है। जिससे बायोक्रूड ऑयल यानी कच्चा जैव-तेल बनता है। फिर इसमें हाइड्रोजन और कैटेलिस्ट मिलाकर साफ-सुथरा ईंधन तैयार किया जाता है। इस प्रक्रिया में नाइट्रोजन, ऑक्सीजन और सल्फर जैसे तत्व हटा दिए जाते हैं।
